Essence of Knowledge.

As Abdul Kalam said,

 "Learning gives creativity
Creativity leads to thinking
Thinking provides knowledge
Knowledge makes you great".

to which Adi Shankaracharya continued...

"The way of devotion, is not different from the way of knowledge or gyana. When intelligence matures and lodges securely in the mind, it becomes wisdom. When wisdom is integrated with life and issues out in action, it becomes bhakthi. Knowledge, when it becomes fully mature is bhakthi. If it doesnot get transformed into bhakthi, such knowledge is useless tinsel. To believe that jnana and bhakthi, knowledge and devotion are different from each other, is ignorance.

If Sri Adi Shankara himself who drank the ocean of jnana as easily as one sips water from the palm of one's hand, sang in his later years, hymns to develop devotion, it is enough to show that jnana and bhakthi are one and the same. Sri Shankara has packed into the Bhaja govindam song, the substance of all vedanta, and set the oneness of jnana and bhakthi to melodious music.”

I find these two thoughts as one great culmination of learning, knowledge, wisdom and bhakti, which are bringing out the true essence of knowledge.

Have You Ever?

Lines from my childhood..
Those that now mean more, than ever before.
"What is this life with full of care,
There is no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the bows,
And stare as long as sheep or cows...."

The arms of a clock, restless are their movements.
Chill, hang unto... Stop and think, had I ever..

Have you ever .. Laughed at nothing, felt the lightness your heart carries.

Have you ever .. Played in rain, splashed water, just to chill and freeze.

Have you ever .. Looked at nothing and still feel complete

Have you ever .. Checked for none around, only to smile at your own joke.

Have you ever .. Felt one's warmth, in their ignorance.

Have you ever .. Sang, danced to your heart's content.

Have you ever .. Been crazy just for the sake of it.

Have you ever .. Had you heart-break, for the cravy-ness, u had for one.

Have you ever .. thought of a world, beyond, 'competence, deadlines, money, market............'

Had one ever?? , ....... for that one MoMenT, one DaY, one LifE may never come.

New Year

Blogging is one thing I always wanted to do.. This is my first blog on the first day, of the first month of the 2012 year.:) .
New year marks the beginning of a 365-day journey. It hence, definitely needs a special welcome. Some are also under a myth that the entire coming year unfolds the way it is spent on the first day. Greeting cards had been the custom until the online greetings made their way. When people could worship God online, why not online greetings. Is this a sign of materialistic, dwindling relationships? Well, all this only deviates from what I wanted to write. :P .

I always come up with resolutions every year whether or not, I follow them. This year, I have planned to make good use of time which is one reason why I kick-started blogging after a really really long time. The very start of December brings us the fragrance of Christmas. No sooner, it ends we'll have one more occasion to celebrate and that is "New Year". :) .. If it was Santa-Clause, X-Mas tree, surprising gifts for Christmas, itz dance, pleasantries, music for the New-Year. I had pretty much the same experience and it was awesome because of my stay in a hostel. We spent the entire 31st evening decorating, arranging woofers for the noisy loud music, getting cakes and many such things for a grand welcome of the new year. While some planned for what Rangolis to make , some were busy practicing some dance moves for an "Ooh La La Night". Finally, all the fun started after the dinner and nobody were spared from dancing. Finally as the clock stuck 12, we literally shouted into each other's ears "HaPPYYYYY NeWWWW YeaRR", which is then followed by a cake-cutting. We shared the joy till we got exhausted.

Once again, I wish all my dear pals, a very very happy new year. :)..
